the tongue

what we speak impacts ppl's lives, consciously or unconsciously.. many times we juz speak, without thinking.. many times we think only after we speak.. many times i think, it's not worth me thinking so much.. wat's the point?? unconsciously, i think, many have been hurt.. unintentionally.. sometimes, what we speak juz don't turn out right, it's not exactly what we mean. an innocent thought might juz turn into an offensive remark..

gossiping.. i think everyone ought to have a fair chance, for us to get to know them. gossiping does the exact opposite. we hear things about ppl, often, even before we get to know them, we already have a presumption of what the person is like. which is not healthy. i met someone this week, although i've heard not very kind things about the person, but after actually talking, it turned out, a very very extremely helpful person indeed!! the exact opposite!

how? conscious effort is needed.. and then after some time, it becomes our habit and later, it becomes part of our nature. David said, "I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence." i think, sometimes, if we don't have something good to say, it's better not to say anything at all.. my mum will say, "speak with grace, for out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks."

"The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just." i want to be a righteous man, able to encourage ppl and not be a stumbling block.

"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer." because "To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness"

Thanks!!!

being in Prague, the most beautiful city i've ever been in. it's been almost 2 months. amazing how God provides for us, whether we are conscious of it or not. i have many times taken God for granted, like after things have gone on smoothly for some time, it's like "only natural for good things to happen". then, when something bad, like somethings doesn't go the way we want it to, only then we think of God. which is bad, really bad. then we humble ourselves before God and repent. everyone knows this and has gone through this. but, how many times must we go repeat this process until we have the nature of thanksgiving and total dependence on God? not going to God only during hard times and forget about him when we are too "busy"? Lord, forgive me AGAIN for doing so. "count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessings and see what God has done" as the song goes.

thank God for a new place to live, now that i'm living with 3 of my seniors in an apartment, with a big big really huge room=D thank God for my awesome family praying and supporting me, thank God for providing me with the books i need, the kind people around, friends that actually take the effort to make sure you're alright, a great university with good lecturers(once you get to know what they are saying ^^), nice food, warm clothes, for Jesus and this salvation, and thank God for my very existence. simple things that i might have taken for granted. sorry.. turning to the opposite side=D give thanks!!=D
